Co-creating Assessments with Employers: What Worked, What Challenged, and What We Learnt

Integrating industry into university curricula is essential for strengthening graduate employability. Graduate Apprenticeships (GAs) offer one model that blends academic study with substantial work based learning. To explore how assessment and feedback operate within this model, short surveys were conducted with current and recent apprentices, as well as the employers hosting them. This presentation shares key survey findings on co creating assessments with employers, highlighting what worked well, the challenges encountered, and the support that most effectively enabled collaborative assessment design and delivery. Findings from this study will be particularly relevant to degree module leaders, educational developers, and employability professionals seeking to initiate or enhance partnership-based assessment practices.
