Milwaukee is served by the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE), located eight miles south of downtown.  A variety of cab and shuttle services are available at the airport, including Lyft and Uber services, with apps that you can download onto your smartphone to schedule/order transportation, track drivers, and pay. The drive from the airport into the city takes about fifteen minutes. There also an Amtrak station located just outside the airport terminal, about 0.6 miles (one kilometer) from the conference hotels, which you can reach with a free shuttle service.  The Hiawatha Service provides seven daily round trips, which reach the city in about ten minutes.

Summers in Milwaukee are the best time to visit, contributing to Milwaukee’s reputation as the leading festival city in the United States. Summer weather is generally warm and sunny, with average daily highs of 82 F. (27 C.) and lows of 65 F. (18. C.) in late July/early August. The city’s proximity to Lake Michigan creates lake breezes that help cool the city in the late afternoon. Most July and August days have an average relative humidity near 75%, The majority are sunny, with rain and occasional thunderstorms occurring about one day in three.
